Let's Sew: Turkey Table Topper Pattern (included)

Thanksgiving is almost here and it's turkey season!
Use fabrics from our fall fat quarter bundles to make this Turkey Table Topper - the instructions for making this project are below.
You'll need:
  • 4 FQs for applique and piecing
  • 1 gold stripe FQ for block background and binding
  • 1 FQ for backing
  • 16" square of batting
  • Fusible web
  • Coordinating thread

Cutting:
From each of 4 FQs:
(4) 3-1/2" squares

From gold stripe FQ:
(1) 10" square
(4) 2-1/4" x WOF strips from remainder

From backing:
(1) your 16" square

Making the Turkey Table Topper
Step 1 Using the template in the link above, trace shapes onto the paper side of fusible web, fuse to desired fabric, and cut out shapes. Fuse to the 10" gold stripe square and zig zag stitch to secure appliques in place. Square up to measure 9-1/2" square.

Step 2 Lay out (16) 3-1/2" squares around the turkey block.
Step 3 Sew (3) 3-1/2" squares into columns and sew to opposite sides of the block. Sew (5) 3-1/2" squares into a row. Make (2). Sew to the top and bottom of the quilt block.

Step 4 Layer the turkey top with batting and backing, baste the layers together, and quilt as desired. Trim backing and batting even with the quilt top and use the gold stripe binding strips to bind.

Enjoy this turkey on your Thanksgiving table!
